As dedicated boat people ourselves, we have a personal interest in ensuring that all our clients enjoy their marine pursuits to the utmost, - safely and with reliable equipment. With a fulltime staff of five people, we bring the enthusiasm, knowledge and service to meet the needs of clients and would-be clients, to exceed expectations.

JOHN BUTLER - Proprietor

I have worked extensively within the marine industry virtually all of my life. My father started Butler Marine in 1970, and I restarted the company name in 1987. I have been involved in the designing and building of boats, both aluminium and fibreglass over many years.
My experience with marine propulsion (outboard, stern-drive, and jet power) enables me to comment and advise on all of these systems.
I also run outboard maintenance courses for the N.Z. Coastguard.
I enjoy most forms of fishing which I carry out at Kaikoura, Motunau and the outer reaches of the Marlborough Sounds & Cook Strait.

DAVE PERANO - Sales Manager

I've been involved with boats and boating all my life. I have been employed at Butler Marine since 1996 and am responsible for new and used boat & motor sales, accessories and parts. ButlerMarine have a well-stocked genuine Suzuki Parts Department, keeping most fast-moving parts. We also carry Johnson, Evinrude, Mercury, Force and Chrysler spare parts along with a range of second hand items. What we don't have, we can get !
I boat extensively in Tasman Bay, Queen Charlotte Sound & fish in Cook Strait. I am available anytime for your marine requirments.
